Dr. Debbage Gives Talks in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE

Dr. Debbage has just returned from a successful two week visit to the United Arab Emirates University. His trip was part funded by IPC Kohler Funds and involved developing institutional
linkages between UNCG and UAEU. Dr. Debbage met with most of the senior leadership at UAEU including the Chancellor, Provost and Dean. He also gave several research talks
including:

• Workforce Readiness and the Challenges of the Skills-Gap: Lessons from America to the prestigious Dubai Future Academy: Pioneers Series in Dubai and also to the UAEU CHSS Research Seminar Series on campus. The CHSS talk was broadcast on campus and beyond and is available on YouTube at this link.
• The Geography of Entrepreneurship by Metropolitan Area: Key Predictors and Public Policy Issues to the Sheik Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation – Innovators Society in Dubai
• Future Skills, Future Cities: New Foundational Skills in Smart Cities to the UAE Ministry of Infrastructure and Development in Dubai
• Aviation Carbon Emissions, Route Choice and Tourist Destinations: Are Non-Stop Routes a Remedy? to a Transportation Geography student class at UAEU
