Strong showing by department at NCGIS conference

Current and former UNCG Geography students brought home three G. Herbert Stout Awards from the annual North Carolina GIS conference at the Raleigh Convention Center last weekend. Stacy Curry (Ph.D. candidate) was a winner in the grad student category for her paper “High Density Survey And Measurement Of Historic Landscape Features,” while Kimberly O’Neill (senior GEO major, pictured) was a winner in the undergraduate category for her paper “GIS Enhances Guilford County’s Street‐Level Photo Project And Improves Productivity.” Joseph Sloop (Ph.D. 2016) and his team at Forsyth County won the Herb Stout award for best GIS project from an NC County.
 
The students were accompanied to NCGIS by Prof. Roy Stine. Congratulations to everyone involved!
