Congratulations to PhD student Tyler Mitchell and 2017 alumnus Thomas Patterson for their publication in the journal, Environmental Research Communications. Their paper, “Changes in southeastern USA summer precipitation event types using instrumental (1940–2018) and tree-ring (1790–2018) data,” was based on old-growth montane longleaf pine data collected the Uwharrie Mountains during the past six years.
