The department participates in the University Honors Program through a departmental liaison. In addition to Full University Honors, the Department of Geography, Environment, and Sustainability offers students the opportunity to complete “Disciplinary Honors in Geography” by maintaining a GPA of 3.3 or higher, completing 9 semester hours of honors designated courses in geography, and presenting a faculty directed Senior Honors Project. The title of the Senior Honors Project is noted on a student’s official transcript, as well as at commencement. Full requirements for the program are available on the Honors College website.
