Once again, congratulations are in order for DJ Perkins (PhD 2015) who is now currently a NSF funded Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Center for Climate Change Communication at George Mason University. He has successfully turned his dissertation research into two recently accepted publications in the International Journal of Biometeorology (“Using Synoptic Weather Types to Predict Visitor Attendance at the Atlanta and Indianapolis Zoological Parks”) and the journal Atmosphere (“Weather and Tourism: Thermal Comfort and Zoological Park Visitor Attendance”). He co-authored the Atmosphere article with Dr. Keith Debbage who was also his dissertation advisor while he was at UNCG.
