Hyojin Kim (with Dr. Sultana) just published a paper in “Transport Policy” that evaluated the performance of high-speed rail stations on economic development. His research finds that station located proximity to CBD perform better than satiations that are located in urban peripheries. He hopes that KTX should give centrality an important consideration for locating future stations in either mid-size cities or suburban areas, in order to maximize the economic impacts. The link of his paper can be found here: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.tranpol.2018.02.008. Congratulations to Hyojin.
