We are delighted to welcome two new colleagues who will start tenure-track positions as assistant professors in August 2018.
Dr. Sarah Praskievicz (Ph.D., University of Oregon) joins us from the University of Alabama, where she was an assistant professor. Dr. Praskievicz’s work lies at the intersection of climatology, hydrology, and fluvial geomorphology. Her publications have appeared in prestigious journals, such as the Annals of the AAG and River Research and Applications.
Dr. Wenliang “Will” Li (Ph.D., University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) comes to UNCG from Iowa State University, where he was a postdoctoral scholar in the Dept. of Geological & Atmospheric Science working on a project related to sustainable energy use in the built environment. Dr. Li’s teaching and research are in the areas of geospatial analysis, remote sensing, urban environmental planning, and land use and land cover change modeling.
These new colleagues complement existing Departmental strengths in physical geography, human-environment relations, and Geographic Information Science.
